Kody's caricature coming soon!

Kodygirl ~ Kody is an All American.... Malamute/GSD/Rott mix . She was adopted from the local SPCA on 5/3/95. She was 4.5 weeks old. She is now 13 years old. In her younger years, she loved running and hiking in the woods with her dad and she has summitted on most of the high peaks in the Catskill Mountains. I am certain that if her old body would allow it, she'd still be out there "bagging peaks"!

Kody loves playing agility too! She has been competiting in agility since Sept. 1998 and has earned many agility titles and awards. Kody has earned a NATCH (NADAC Agility Trial Champion )  and her 1000 lifetime points award. She realized these two goals at 10 years old after having both knees reconstructed from ACL injuries.  Kody has also earned the Elite Triple Superior & Novice Versatility awards.  She also has Elite titles in AMBOR (American Mixed Breed Obedience Registry).

Kody retired from competitive agility in the fall of 2007, at 12 1/2 years old, with more than 1500 lifetime points in addition to all the titles and awards she earned over the last 9 years... What a great ride it was! I thank her for being my team mate!

Kody has taught me alot about teamwork and sportsmanship in agility.  She keeps me company and has been my traveling partner since 1998. She is my very best friend and my soul dog.

Kodygirl's Agility Titles & Awards:

Nika Blue Eyes ~ Nika is a Wolf Grey Siberian Husky. She was rescued on 7/9/01 from a pretty scary area in our community. She had been tied out to a shovel stuck in the ground for the first 8-9 months of her life in her owner's yard. She had no shelter and very little food. Her owners got evicted and left her behind. The landlord was going to take her to a shelter and we said we'd find a home for her. Who knew it would be with us! Kody took to her immediately so we knew this would be her forever home. Nika was probably beaten and not cared for at all. She has come so far in the time we have had her. At about 7 years old, she is one of the most fun-loving dogs a person could meet.

Nika loves to go running and hiking in the woods with her dad.  She especially likes to go with him when there is a chance of running or hiking past a lake because Nika LOVES to swim!  Nika likes to play agility too. She competes in agility and has accomplished a lot, but Nika has her own style of running agility ... I love her for her free spirit!

Nika has taught me to "keep it real" in agility and have FUN no matter what.  She is my buddy who makes me laugh every day.

Nika's Agility Titles:

NADAC: O-TG-E, O-TN-E, ECC, OJC, NAC

NADAC's Top 10 by Breed 2007 -

  • #1 Siberian Husky in Elite Touch n Go
  • #2 Siberian Husky in Elite Tunnelers
  • #3 Siberian Husky in Elite Chances

AKC: NA, NAJ

OTHERS: CGC,  SBED (Siberian Blue Eyed Devil)

deHaan's Gimme Shelter ~ Kiva the Diva ~ Kiva came to us on July 3rd, 2007.  She was 6-8 weeks old when I found her on www.Petfinder.com .  Kody, Nika & I traveled to Massacheusetts to meet her. All went well, so home she came and immediately became part of the pack, trying out the most cushy dog bed in the house for size!

Kiva was dumped in a cemetary in Brooklyn, NY with her littermates and was taken to a shelter and then transferred to a foster home for a day before I found her. Her name means PROTECTED in Hebrew and has other meanings in other languages, but I love the Hebrew translation as it is exactly what she will be for the rest of her life with us.  She has already gained the nickname "Kiva the Diva" and that fits her so well.

Kiva has proven to be a natural at agility and will be making her agility debut in November, 2008.  She and I are both looking forward to playing with the big kids!  Kiva also LOVES to play ball and chase the frisbee for unlimited time.  She's really become such an important part of our family and owns a special place in my heart.
